Role Profile

The Manufacturing Support Technician will measure, analyse and optimise production processes and design to continuously improve their effectiveness, efficiency and cost by the application of techniques such estimating, work content time study, waste elimination, load and capacity planning through the creation of a robust, representative factory simulation model.

Working within the main manufacturing operations of our facility, support our drive for operations excellence through the creation of a full process factory simulation model making use of various data systems available, and facilitating scenario planning for volume, process, product, and performance changes.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Demonstrate practical leadership skills with good process, product, and plant knowledge. Must understand the planned maintenance schedule and able to trouble shoot issues
  • Competent with all the process equipment within LCD with special emphasis on the cutting equipment. Must be a competent user of the following -  Zund, Teseo Machine, Versalis Machine, Splitting, Skiving
  • Must demonstrate competence in 365 Dynamics
  • Must be able to able to raise Batch/Works orders
  • Sales orders, work orders and formula’s
  • Master planning
  • Production floor execution
  • Release products and planned works orders
  • Must be competent in the core Microsoft IT software packages 
  • Leading productivity
  •  Utilising improvement tools to increase reliability and availability
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify Failure modes / Waste elimination ideas and corrective actions
  • Create and update work elements in system ensuring capacity/utilisation details are maintained and aligned with load/capacity planning processes

 

Experience Desired

  • Experience of working with stakeholders at various levels of a business
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and analysis tools including the simulation software (Simul8)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement strategies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 6-sigma, TPM etc.)
  • Well versed with Engineering & manufacturing drawings interpretation
  • General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, ERP) and plant layout (Product, Process & Cellular) relevant to the business
  • Have the ability to manage projects with multiple cross-functional interfaces, have good written and oral communication skills, and be capable of working on own initiative
