Better leather tomorrow starts with your hard work today. At the Scottish Leather Group we know that the future of leather making is in the hands of our apprentices. So we invest in developing them through the SLG Academy. Educating tomorrow’s innovators since 2012.
We’re the UK’s leading leather manufacturer and home to the finest leather makers. It’s been our passion and our way of life for over 500 years. Whether you want hands-on experience or you’re using the Academy as a launchpad to a new career, we’re always searching for the right people to join us.
Our two-year SLG Academy programme is an apprenticeship programme that we run in collaboration with local Higher Education colleges. We’ve already helped more than 70 apprentices get to grips with the challenges of Manufacturing and Production and Maintenance Engineering, and we’ve watched them grow; going on to degrees in Leather Technology and Engineering, or Design and Manufacturing.
The Academy now offers more courses for more disciplines across our business, like Commercial, Finance and Sales & Marketing to help even more people find the right role in the Group.
