Role Purpose

As well as supporting all recruitment lifecycle activities internally and externally, this newly created role will also be responsible for representing and advocating our employer brand. You will lead external-facing activities such as visiting local schools and colleges, attending Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math’s (STEM) events, and managing local recruitment fairs to promote our wide range of career paths. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where delivering an excellent service to candidates and business stakeholders is business as usual, and you are driven to achieve the best value throughout our recruitment processes.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Developing role profiles with hiring managers and ensuring we are focused on identifying the ‘how’ as well as the ‘what’
  • Sourcing and screening candidates for live vacancies and giving candidates a great experience of Scottish Leather Group, keeping them fully engaged throughout the process
  • Providing coordination support across the HR team, including setting up interviews, preparing interview guides, posting jobs on all our social media platforms, organising careers events etc
  • Facilitating the onboarding process to ensure candidates have regular communication. This will include working in partnership with our Payroll and IT teams and providing regular updates to the hiring community
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities across Scottish Leather Group, spanning initiatives across inclusion and diversity, candidate engagement, candidate communications and attraction – to name a few
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and confidence by maintaining a high level of credibility, integrity, and skilled communications with managers and the HR Team
  • Being proactive; actively engaging with the HR team, provide ongoing status of sourcing activities and candidates.
  • Owning our annual apprentice recruitment programmes
  • Managing and attending in-house volume recruitment evenings and local recruitment fairs

 

Experience Desired

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced recruitment environment
  • Previous experience of sourcing and engaging passive candidates
  • Professional and customer orientated approach, with proven experience of creating a great candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Experience of presenting confidently to large groups
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail – getting it right first time
  • Must be results oriented and have the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Previous experience recruiting in manufacturing would be preferred but not essential
