Hide Store Operator

Location: Bridge of Weir, Scotland 


The Role 

Providing support within the Hide Store by undertaking all necessary duties and completing in a timely manner and to a high standard. Furthermore, to consistently deliver high quality outputs of hides to meet customer expectations, take a proactive approach to Health and Safety for self and others which will contribute to ‘Zero Tolerance’ H&S Initiatives.


Key Accountabilities

  • Inspection – separate hides into weights and grades
  • Salting – method used to preserve hides
  • De Salting and Palletising – process used to remove excess salt from the raw material
  • Ensure daily machine checks, and maintenance are carried out; and the machine is kept in a clean and tidy manner
  • Ensure all Health & Safety Standards are met
  • Quality of outputs

  • Meets Health & Safety standards – Zero Tolerance

Experience Desired

Training Provided (Manufacturing experience preferred but not essential).
