Engineering Standards Compliance Officer

Role Profile 

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Compliance Officer will ensure that all engineering and regulatory standards are adhered to by organising the systems of inspection and assurance within the entire Engineering Department.

The principle purposes of the role are to ensure that the company remains in compliance with external regulatory laws and standards.


Key Accountabilities

  • Embed a H&S culture of zero tolerance in all engineering works
  • Promote the use of T-Cards for near miss and hazard reporting, ensuring appropriate feedback and recognition
  • Organise statutory insurance inspections (lifting equipment, LEV, electrical and pressure systems) for the site, in communication with insurance inspectors and site contacts to plan dates in advance
  • Assist Supervisors in the organization of lifting equipment around the Company
  • Monitor & organise replacement lifting gear for the site
  • Process all insurance reports through the British Engineering portal
  • Update and issue monthly outstanding insurance remedial action reports
  • Organise training requirements for MST’s via Technical Team Leaders
  • Maintain records for all training including Safe Systems of Work
  • Assist in the maintenance of all Quality Assurance systems and documentation
  • Organise and record equipment calibration tasks.


Experience Desired

  • Excellent team player, demonstrating practical leadership of people, product process and plant
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial setting, with a good understanding of the stakeholder requirements in relation to engineering projects
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to regularly changing demands
  • Numerate and accurate
  • Competent IT Skills, being capable of using company management systems
  • Excellent organisational skills.
