Job Title:        Cleaner Team Leader, Scottish Leather Group

Reports to:     Production Supervisor (Finishing to Despatch), Scottish Leather Group

Location:         Bridge of Weir, Scotland

Laboratory

Role Purpose

The Cleaning Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the team working in a safe manner and working to the standard operating procedures. The Team Leader should maintain regular and effective communication with the team, ensuring that all operational and housekeeping tasks are completed daily which will support and maintain quality and workplace organisation standards. In addition, the Team Leader will work closely with the supervisors to ensure that the cleaning and the cleaning schedules are done to a high standard.

Key Accountabilities

  • To ensure that the machine cleaning is done correctly and all safety checks, lock off procedures have been carried out
  • To work closely with supervisors adapting schedules to work alongside production
  • Ordering equipment needed for tasks
  • Any training needed for cleaners to ensure they are capable and multi-skilled at all aspects of cleaning/stringing
  • Monitoring of the machines and ongoing quality
  • Responsible for ensuring all Health and Safety standards are met
  • Takes ownership for ensuring all housekeeping duties are met and safe working are promoted
  • Team player – works as part of team to deliver results
  • Effective communications at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills

Experience Desired

  • Has worked in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding Health and Safety and workplace organisation requirements
  • Demonstrable management or supervisory skills – can provide examples of coaching others to improve performance
